Indian job ads targeted to women often pay less than those for men

A study of over 800,000 online job ads in India by World Bank researchers found that female-specified jobs in the clerical sector were likely to pay an estimated 19% higher salary compared to male-specified jobs within the same sector. But in every other sector, female-specified jobs offered lower salaries compared to male-specified jobs.
